JOB DESCRIPTION & ROLE OVERVIEW


Reports to: Marketing Manager

Neighbourgood, South Africa’s leading hybrid hospitality business, is looking for a versatile and creative Multimedia Designer to join our team. We are looking for a visual storyteller who can translate our brand mission into compelling digital and physical assets.

The ideal candidate is a hybrid creative, someone who is equally comfortable designing a high-end investor deck, conceptualising social media motion graphics, or prepping files for large-scale physical signage. You are detail-oriented, trend-aware, and capable of managing multiple design projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. We are building a brand rooted in belonging, creativity, and considered design. We are looking for a Multimedia Designer who can bring that to life across every platform and brand touchpoint.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS &


  • Education: Three-year degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, or Visual Communication.

  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of professional design experience (in-house or freelance preferred).

  • Technical Mastery: Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign are non-negotiable; After Effects/Premiere Pro is a major plus).

  • Digital: Strong understanding of UI/UX principles for web design and email layout.

  • Presentation: Ability to turn complex briefs into beautiful, digestible pitch decks (Keynote/PowerPoint/Canva).

  • Production: Knowledge of print production processes (bleed, slugs, large-format signage specs).

  • Web: Basic knowledge of web CMS (like Squarespace/Shopify) for layout updates is advantageous.

  • Agility: Ability to pivot from a digital social media campaign to a physical event poster quickly.

  • Brand Custodianship: Ability to maintain brand consistency while finding fresh ways to innovate within the brand guidelines.

  • Collaboration: Comfortable taking briefs and translating them into visual solutions.

  • Self-starter, creative thinker, and self-motivated: Able to manage your own time effectively

  • Strong team player, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude to collaborate with the teams across departments.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES


Digital & Social Media Production

  • Designing high-engagement assets for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

  • Creating motion graphics or basic video edits to bring social content to life.

  • Designing and laying out monthly emailers/newsletters.

    Brand & Sales Collateral Across Brands. 

  • Designing and updating digital and print brochures.

  • Creating high-impact decks for internal strategy, investment, or partnership pitches.

  • Conceptualising and designing artwork for Neighbourgood and all its subsidiary brands (posters, digital invites, menus, social graphics).

    Web & UI/UX

  • Designing web graphics, icons, and landing page layouts to keep the Neighbourgood website fresh and functional.

  • Ensuring all digital assets are optimised for mobile and web performance.

    Physical Spaces & Signage

  • Designing environmental graphics and signage for our various locations.

  • Liaising with printers and signage suppliers to ensure the final physical product matches the design intent.

    Asset Management

  • Organising and maintaining the internal media library (keeping design files, logos, and templates structured).

  • Assisting with basic photo retouching and color grading for brand photography.
