Reports to: Marketing Manager

The Neighbourgood Community Experience Coordinator (Culture & Events Custodian) will act as the custodian for all things events, culture, and community, and have excellent all-around people skills, and assist with leading the growth of the Neighbourgood community. The ideal candidate is hard-working, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, detail-oriented, and focused on execution.

Events, partnerships, and culture across our internal and external communities play an important part in creating the Neighbourgood experience for our members and the greater city of Cape Town, within the Neighbourgood Property Services business.

As the Community Experience Coordinator, you will have a key role in creating, managing, and operating events for the community, with the opportunity to meet new people daily and build the culture of the Neighbourgood lifestyle.

The Community Experience Coordinator is a brand ambassador for Neighbourgood, and as the friendly face representing the brand, you will need to develop exceptional working relationships with internal teams, external suppliers, and partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Perform administrative tasks, including but not limited to: Reports & Budget Sheets, Emails & Direct Messages, Event Posters (Design etc), Content Creation for events (Photos, Videos, IG Reels etc), Copywriting (Event Notices etc).

  • Take full ownership and responsibility for events, including the setup and teardown of events, and ensure the smooth running of all events.

  • Attending all, or most, scheduled events on the calendar.

  • Observe how events are received by both Neighbourgood members, guests and the public, and drive feedback from event attendees to continue to better the membership experience.

  • Assist in managing the budget of upcoming events, within the budgeted income and expenditure allowances. This will be done with guidance and oversight from the Marketing Manager.

  • Assist with promoting events and partnerships on our social media channels, and other relevant marketing channels.

  • Assist with creating events-specific content for our social media channels.

  • Collaborate within the team to research and come up with consistent weekly and monthly events, as well as unique once-off events.

  • Spend time at Neighbourgood living space and workspace locations to interact with members in the day to day in order to create an inclusive atmosphere and encourage members to join events as well continuing to assist in other avenues of event promotion.

  • The Community Experience Coordinator will reach out to new members and establish new relationships, encouraging member participation, as well as maintain key member relationships.

  • Check in with Community Managers frequently in order to receive feedback and obtain suggestions on events.

  • Suggestion and implementation of any operational changes to ensure that events objectives are met, in line with the company values.

  • Attend weekly team meetings (either in person or online) and report any feedback about events from members/guests/attendees.

  • Assist with establishing brand partnerships with local brands and continue to research new partnerships with local brands.

  • The Community Experience Coordinator will manage the citywide events WhatsApp group, where details of community and external events will be shared on a weekly basis.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS


  • Graduate degree or diploma

  • Own laptop computer

  • An interest and aptitude to work in event planning, customer service, marketing, social media management or brand management

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to prioritise tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously

  • A can-do, eager-to-learn attitude

  • Able to formulate a unique vision and flawlessly execute the vision

  • Creative and problem-solving skills – the ability to logically approach any situation and offer relevant suggestions for consideration

  • Quick to learn and the ability to adapt quickly to change

  • Self-starter and self-motivated – able to manage your own time effectively

  • Strong team player, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude, who enjoys working with people and has good interpersonal skills

  • Strong organisational, planning, and project management skills

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES


  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Google Applications, and has a good base of general computer knowledge

  • A good understanding of social media management across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and TikTok

  • Solid content creation skills

  • Advantageous Skills: Copywriting, graphic design, photo-editing, photography and videography
