CAREERS AT NEIGHBOURGOOD

COMMUNITY & PARTNERSHIPS COORDINATOR

Start Date: TBC
Location: Cape Town
Salary: Market Related
Job Type: Permanent

WHO WE ARE

Neighbourgood brings good to neighbourhoods. We run living spaces, aparthotels & hotels stays from 1 night to a few months at a time and work clubs across Cape Town, and we believe the magic happens when strangers become friends over a pizza, a games night, or a party on the rooftop.

THE ROLE

You're the human who turns a building into a community.

Every day, you'll bring together our work club members, hotel guests, long-stay residents, and friends of Neighbourgood through events that actually feel fun, not corporate. Think braais, sip and paints, movie nights, and whatever cool idea you dream up next. You'll also be out there building partnerships with local brands to co-host events that make our community programming even better.

If you love people, thrive on a fast pace, and want a job where no two days look the same - this is it.

WHAT YOU’LL ACTUALLY DO

Run the Events:

  • Plan a mix of regular weekly/monthly events and standout one-off experiences

  • Own events from start to finish - setup, hosting, pack-down

  • Show up. You'll be at most events, not just planning them from a desk

Build the Vibe

  • Get to know our members and guests - be a familiar, friendly face across our buildings

  • Run our community WhatsApp groups, keeping people in the loop on what's coming up

  • Welcome new people into the fold and keep regulars coming back

Find Cool Partners

  • Scout and build relationships with local brands for event collabs

  • Bring fresh ideas and partners to the table that make our events and experiences better

Tell the Story

  • Capture photos and video at every event

  • Create content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and LinkedIn that actually captures what Neighbourgood feels like

Keep It Sharp

  • Track a simple events budget and report on it monthly

  • Talk to location managers and attendees to find out what's working (and what's not)

  • Use that feedback to keep improving

Champion Our Culture

  • Help build team morale through internal initiatives

  • Co-lead our team events and activations across head office and properties

WHAT YOU’RE LIKE

  • A natural connector - people remember you after one conversation

  • A social butterfly - you thrive on social events and get energy from interacting with people

  • Organised enough to juggle five events at once without dropping the ball

  • Comfortable being the face of a brand, in person and online

  • Creative - you don't wait to be told what the next event should be

  • Adaptable - plans change, and you roll with it

  • A self-starter who doesn't need hand-holding

NICE-TO-HAVES

  • A degree or diploma (we care more about the person and their experience than a degree)

  • Experience in events, hospitality, marketing, or community roles

  • An eye for content, copywriting, photography, videography, or design

  • Comfortable with Google Workspace, Canva, WhatsApp, Instagram & TikTok

Neighbourgood is growing fast, which means real responsibility from day one. If you're someone who brings the fun and gets things done - we want to meet you.
